WCLT (Local Resources)

The following is a list of resources available for self-directed professional development.  If any of the titles are of interest to you, please let me know and I will sign it out to you and put it in your mailbox.

As we review these books, I would appreciate it if you could provide me with a little synopsis of the book and if you would recommend it to a colleague. I will post your synopsis to make this list more user friendly. owl reading

This is a binder put together by the SD 62 Aboriginal Education Department that has a list comprehensive list of aboriginal role models with their credentials and contact information.  WestShore teachers have used this binder to contact members of the aboriginal community to speak to their classes about residential schools.  You can find an application to submit to Ab Ed, at the front of the binder, to cover the cost of the honourarium for the guest speaker.
Alex Nelson (Page 10) is very powerful speaker on the topic of Residential Schools.
